A walk around Monsal Dale is normally a delight especially when it also includes Deep Dale. Today's walk however provided little in the way of views as I walked in thick mist for most of the day. Indeed the last time I saw the sun was when I was on top of Lose Hill a week ago.

 

Start: Car park at Monsal Head (SK 1843 7148)

 

Route: Monsal Head - Monsal Trail - Ashford in the Water - Sheldon - Deep Dale - Monsal Dale - Monsal Head

 

Distance: 8 miles     Ascent: 375 metres     Time Taken: 3 hours 55 minutes  

 

Weather: Thick mist with occasional light rain.
