Clear blue sky, no wind and the ground still hard after the first frost of autumn made for superb walking conditions today. This was a walk I had been planning to do a few weeks ago but never had time to fit in and I was really glad today that that was the case. The location of the walk meant that the cold clear air made sure that the views towards the Edges and Kinder Scout were as good as they could possibly be, whilst the time of year meant that walking through the two cloughs was a kaleidoscope of yellows and oranges. If ever there was a walk made for a clear autumn days this must have been it. It will definitely be going on my list of favourite walks.
