Higger Tor Sunday 30th March 2014

Whilst discussing possible routes with John for today's walk he expressed a desire to viist Higger Tor, a walk I usually do when he is working. The views were somewhat limited possibly due to the air pollution that was heading towards the UK from the Sahara and Europe.

Upper Burbage Bridge

We timed our arrival at the car park well, as someone was just leaving. It's normally much quieter when I walk here.

Burbage Rocks

Looking back aliong Burbage Rocks and the views are somewhat restricted.

Carl Wark & Higger Tor

Even Carl Wark and Higger Tor are almost lost in the mirk.

Burbage Brook

I certainly hadnít expected to return here quite so soon, but we decided to walk to Mothers Cap and this was the easiest way to it.

Mother Cap

The area around here was full of families out enjoying the warm weather.

Higger Tor

It had threatened to brighten up as we sat having lunch, but sadly that never happened. Our route to Higger Tor from Over Owler Tor was along the clear path ahead.

Carl Wark

As ever the best view of Carl Wark is from Higger Tor.

Fiddler's Elbow

The final stretch would take us over Fiddler's Elbow with no hope of the haze lifting before we got back to the car.

Previous walk Padley Gorge Monday 24th March 2014 <> Next walk Wolfscote Dale Tuesday 8th April 2014
