The Roaches - Peak District Walk

Friday 2nd November 2007

With John starting his new job on Monday we decided to make the most of his last few days of freedom and headed out for a walk to an area he hadn't visited before, the Roaches. Rather than doing a there and back walk we started by heading out towards Turner's Pool and Danebridge which made more of a circular walk and also gave us some good views of the Roaches from below.

Start: Hen Cloud lay-by (SK0048 6200)

Route: Hen Cloud lay-by - Roache Grange - Turner's Pool - Danebridge - Back Forest - The Roaches (TP) - Rockhall - Hen Cloud lay-by

Distance: 8.25 miles     Ascent: 432 metres      Time Taken: 5 hours

Terrain: Fields, quiet country lanes and easy paths.

Weather: Some spells of sunshine early on, then grey and cloudy.

Pub Visited: None    Ale Drunk: None
